It was evident that Nizhny Novgorod is ready to fight against any opponent in the first half in the cold home gym. But CSKA used its class in the third quarter which happened to be deciding.

Nizhniy Novgorod vs. CSKA: 62-79 (+17)

Jonas Kazlauskas, CSKA head coach:
Nizhny Novgorod is a well-organized team. It is not easy to play against us, we have a number of good players, but the hosts were able to fight. We play a lot of away games these past days so I was a bit afraid that we will be out of rhythm. Still the guys with some exceptions played good, controlled the game. We lost on rebounds in the first half but managed to correct our actions after the break. We showed good defense making the opponents to shoot in the end of 24 seconds. At the same time we did not make several ‘our’ shots. Kaun played after injury, Krstic did not get into the game probably for the first time with us. Ponkrashov did not play because it is difficult to use all twelve players. I could let him play for 2-3 minutes but it will be better if I find 20-25 minutes for him in another game.
