Our team will finish the Euroleague regular championship in Malaga. CSKA and Unicaja are already secured their positions in Group B, but the opponent have their own goals for the game.

Red-blues occupied the first place and Unicaja is qualified third. At the same time both teams prefer to enter the Christmas break with optimistic mood. Besides, CSKA dreams of finishing the first stage undefeated.

“Though the game is meaningful for both teams which secured their positions in Group B standings, all the teams are looking for a win in any game of any competition,” – CSKA head coach Jonas Kazlauskas said. “Especially if you are playing in the Euroleague. No doubt, both CSKA and Unicaja will not look for the win at any cost; the coaches will try to rest the players who have health problems. I think we should not say about Malaga team strongest sides again, I can just say that the team is playing fast-pace basketball, characteristic for the Spanish League. Surely, the hosts will try to please their fans before the holidays. We will try to please ours. It is important for CSKA to finish the regular championship with the game worthy of the group winner.”

Russian champions’ coaching staff decided to rest Andrei Kirilenko (shoulder, broken nose), Jamont Gordon (torn hamstring) and Andrey Vorontsevich (torn soleus muscle). At the same time two fans who won the contest organized by PBC CSKA and Radio Maximum are boarded the team’s charter – Alexey Azarnykh and Natalia Nazarkova.
