Our team had the longest trip of the season today getting to Vladivostok for the BEKO PBL regular championship game against Spartak-Primorye.
Taking into account the time difference army men spent almost a day on the road: the team departed form CSKA arena at 11:30 am on Monday, took the charter plane which also landed in Krasnoyarsk to refuel and accommodated in the hotel in Vladivostok at 8:30 am local time on Tuesday. No practices are planned. The team will go directly to the game just after the rest.
CSKA went to play shorthanded against one of the most dangerous teams of Russian league. Ramunas Siskauskas continues his rehabilitation after right leg injury, Nenad Krstic will practice individually for a week because of left pinkie toe injury and will join his teammates after that, Jamont Gordon twisted his left ankle during the practice on Sunday. Andrey Kirilenko will undergo conservative therapy to treat the back pains.
“I know that most of the teams experience problems when they play in Vladivostok”, - CSKA head coach Jonas Kazlauskas said. “We used the club’s experience to plan the trip in the way to play good game and to avoid jet-lag problems on the verge of the most important games of the season. We faced the problem of the injuries as we had to leave Siskauskas, Krstic, Kirilenko and Gordon at home. I repeat that they are not given the rest but we have to care about their health more now.”
