The official season starts for our team in the Eastern point of the basketball map. The army men went to Vladivostok to face Spartak-Primorye in the BEKO PBL game.
Fortunately, the team has no absences due to injuries or illnesses. Only the youngest players were left in Moscow to practice with CSKA-2 under Andrey Maltsev’s guidance. Transaero flight 9797 welcomed 14 players aboard, and the dozen will be named during the team meeting before the game. The pair left off the roster will participate in the clinic for the young players which is a part of Dream Team, joint program of CSKA and Rostelecom.
“It is the opening game of the Russian League, and the games in Vladivostok are always difficult”, – CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “Because of the travel, because usually Spartak-Primorye plays very hard, their home crowd is loud and supportive. We know we need to have solid performance to try to get the first win of the season.”
It is interesting that the next game for army men will be played on the opposite side of former USSR – in Klaipeda, Lithuania.
