VEF Riga vs. CSKA: 67-75 (+8)

We knew it will be difficult game. VEF demonstrated good basketball in previous games. We had to play after tough game in Belgrade, two flights and without three important players. We played well in the end of first and beginning of second periods but in the second half despite our hard work on defense we had too many turnovers and missed open shots. Still we were able to win and I want to congratulate my players.
Anton Ponkrashov, CSKA guard:
It was not an easy win. We were up by 11 after the first half but we couldn’t keep the safe lead and had to play in the nervous ending. Fortunately, we showed our character again, played good basketball and took the win.
