Moscow mayor congratulated army players

Today the celebration of PBC CSKA – Russian Champion took place in Moscow city hall today. Chief of CSKA Olga Smorodskaya, president of PBC CSKA Alexander Gomelsky, management of the club, army players Sergey Panov, Anton Yudin, Viktor Khryapa, Sergey Monya, Alexander Bashminov, and players of the junior team CSKA with their coach Eugeny Pashutin took part in the celebration.

Mayor of the city Yuri Lujkov congratulated army team with the victory and said that because of his work he must support all Moscow teams, but in the youth he was supporter of CSKA. As Lujkov said, that this season Championship was holding in the sharp fight, but CSKA demonstrated that they are still best. Gold medals and third place in Europe is a good step forward besides last year. Lujkov said that next season army players will be main opponents of their self. Team must grow up and do not stop. CSKA success is a visit card of the city and good argument for Moscow chances to host Olympic Games 2012. Lujkov said that there is good fine atmosphere in CSKA arena and full tribunes of USH – the main fact of basketball popularity in the city. In the ending Lujkov has wished army players lucky in the next season, especially in Euroleague Final Four which will take place in Moscow.

Alexander Gomelsky thanked mayor for his support of the team. After it the ceremonial awarding of Russian champions by Cups took place.
