The contract between the guard Drew Nicholas and our club is terminated after mutual agreement.

Drew joined CSKA in August 2012 by signing 1-year contract with an option for second year. The guard went through the preseason with the team but unfortunately he could not show himself in official games. Nicholas struggled in Euroleague making just 1 field goal out of 16 attempts and lost the spot on the game roster. His full stats in red-blue uniform: 0.5 points, 0.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists in 15.0 minutes of 4 Euroleague games, 7.0 points, 0.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.3 steals in 19.7 minutes of 3 games of VTB League, 6.5 points, 0.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steals in 11.3 minutes of 2 PBL games.

Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President:
We had big hopes for Drew, signing him as well-known shooter with the experience of big victories. Unfortunately, his was not able to show his best in the beginning of the season and lost in competition to his teammates. Still we had no complaints about Nicholas' dedication, hard work during the practices, we are grateful for his help to the team and coaching staff in preparation period. We understand that it would be not fair to keep the player with big name in reserve which makes the mental pressure on him even bigger. We sincerely wish Drew to find his team and to continue his successful career.

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:
I am sorry it did not work. And I wish Drew best of luck in the future.
