Our team is ready to take the responsibility for the CSKA fans’ New Year mood. The team will try to beat Anadolu Efes in the last game of year 2012.

The team was left without Christmas break for the first time ever so it devoted the time to working on its game. Though the roster was shortened: Zoran Erceg and Andrey Vorontsevich continued to practice individually, Alexander Gudumak and Ivan Strebkov spent three days in Kazan playing for junior team. Sonny Weems remains questionable for the game with chronic ankle injury.

At the same time Teodoros Papaloukas joined the team’s practices on Wednesday. Greek point guard is added to the team’s roster as part of his ongoing tryout with the club. As CSKA head coach Ettore Messina mentioned, Papaloukas can make his debut this season in tomorrow’s game. Theo will be in the dozen under number 44.

“We play against a very talented team and we should not be misled by Efes’s results in the qualification to the Top 16”, – Ettore Messina said. “Yes, they lost couple of games, but they also won several encounters against strong teams like Euroleague champion Olympiacos. They have high-quality players, they have great shooters and they are well coached by Oktay Mahmuti. We should be focused, sharp and mentally prepared for the fact that the game could be decided in the very end.”
