The army men had the longest European flight today: after spending around 6 hours in the air the team landed in Malaga to face Unicaja on Thursday.
The game will be special for red-blues. First, because the loss in Moscow was very painful for Russian champs and they think of revenge. Second, the game against Zalgiris last week gave our club its 199th win in the newest history of Euroleague. There is a chance to become the first team to reach win number 200. Third, the game is very important for both teams in means of standings.
“It will be very difficult game,” CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “Unicaja won in Madrid last week and earned some extra confidence. They are still fighting for the spot in the quarterfinals, they have hopes and this particular game will be very important for them. Unicaja has great shooters and it is very good on offensive rebounds so we have to take care about that. We also struggled against their zone defense in Moscow and we will be better prepared this time.”
The team has lost just one player to health conditions: Alexander Gudumak is ill. Evgeny Voronov and Alexey Zozulin were left out of 12-man roster.
