The home game against Khimki will be the final one for our team in the golden PBL season. Despite the lack of tournament importance both opponents have their reasons to fight for the win.
The army men are busy with the preparations to the Euroleague Final Four and they dedicated the last week to the improvement of their physical shape. Red-blues don't have ill or injured players and only the youngest ones stay out of the practices because they participate in the final stage of junior Russian championship.
“The games against Khimki are special for Russian basketball”, CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “Though currently both teams will have their tasks because of lack of the tournament motivation. The game is important for us as part of preparation for the Euroleague Final Four so we will try to share the playing time and show the basketball of high quality though the team will be one week ahead in its thoughts.”
Khimki is the only team to have positive balance of wins and losses against CSKA this season. Therefore the red-blues dream of revenge and the good cause to celebrate 20th Russian league gold together with the fans.
