33-years old Lithuanian has an experience of playing in Bundesliga where he defended the colors of Ludwigsburg in 2010-12.
Zavackas signed 1-month contract with CSKA in the beginning of September and played in all exhibition games averaging 4.7 points (58% of three-pointers), 2.7 rebounds and 0.5 steals.
It should be noted that Donatas will stay on the army men roster until the end of the week and he can participate in the Gomelsky Cup. The club considers it necessary to have Zavackas on the roster for the tournament as the team is weak on 4-position and the use of the other players on uncharacteristic position is not viable on this stage of preparations when the team needs more understandable and keen tactical schemes.
Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:
We are very glad that Donatas will continue his career in Telekom. It is great that we had him here over the month, he helped us a lot in preparation and games. He was important for us because of our problems on power forward position, and we count on him in the Gomelsky Cup because Andrey Vorontsevich is not ready to play, Victor Khryapa is coming after injury and Nenad Krstic just returned from his National Team and had just a couple of practices here.
