Just after finishing its long but exhausting trip to the US our team is ready to start the new season. VEF Riga will be the first opponent in the home game of the VTB League.
Army men turned to preparation without taking a breather. Red-blues practiced on Friday and Saturday. Hopefully, there are no losses on the roster as only Andrey Vorontsevich continues to work individually to rehab after injury.
“We are very excited to start new VTB League season after our championship last year”, CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “We also came on very excited after the opportunity to play on the highest basketball level possible. I think we played well against the NBA teams and we should transform this level of basketball into our official season. VEF Riga is a good team with quality shooter and well-coached, we played two difficult games against them last season. We should not be influenced by obvious tiredness after the long trip.”
