Veteran fans still remember Akvarius Volgograd fighting for the medals in Russian League in 90s. Unfortunately the team left the Superleague in 1998 because of financial problems. Volgograd got the basketball club again only in 2012 when Krasny Octyabr metallurgy factory started to support local team. In 2013 they started playing in VTB League.
“We face the team which is loaded with great shooters and plays quick basketball,” CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “We have to play good defense against their uptempo game and to find right balance on offense.”
Army Men did not have time to rest after the game on Friday. The team had a practice and video session in the afternoon on Saturday. Victor Khryapa remains questionable for the game.
