The week of big games finishes for our team with a visit to Khimki where in the VTB League game the Army Men will try to revenge their loss at home.

“It is peculiar that on the same week in two games in a row we play against the teams possessing long winning streaks,” CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “Khimki are playing really well this season both in Eurocup and VTB League. After our first game we know already that you cannot play against them without absolute focus on defense. We spent a lot of energy in our excellent win over Real and we have to recover it to play a good game on Sunday.”

By beating Madrid the Army Men stopped the opponents' 31-game winning streak and did not let them to reach their own record of 17 wins in a row (2004-05 season) in Euroleague – Real had just 13. The situation now looks the same: Khimki are on the 23-game winning streak, including 12 in a row in VTB League – tied for the all-time high with CSKA. So Ettore Messina's team has extra motivation in not letting Khimki move them from the first line in the book of records.

The injuries are still bother the red-blues. Kyle Hines continues to practice individually after hurting his right ankle. Sonny Weems (back spasms) remains questionable. Khimki will miss Paul Davis who also did not play in December game in Moscow.
