Our team switches to Russian realities on Sunday to face Krasny Oktyabr in the second game of the Cup quarterfinals.
As usually after the Euroleague game the Army Men went back home immediately by Transaero charter flight. When the fans followed Russia-USA Olympic ice hockey game our team watched the video and practiced in USH CSKA in full strength (with Alexander Gudumak absent to play for junior team).
“Regardless the difficult Euroleague game in Istanbul and trip back home we have to be ready for the game which decides the qualification to the next round of Russian Cup,” CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “Hopefully we will be able to recover from our minor physical problems and play good defense which will be crucial against one of the best offensive teams of VTB League.”
CSKA won by 6 points in the first game in Volgograd despite trailing by 13 in the second quarter.
