The Army Men will step on the floor of USH CSKA to host Triumph Liubertsy in the VTB United League game.
In case of the win our team will secure second place in Group B which allows skipping the first round of play-offs. Besides of tournament importance the game will be special as an event held together with Basketball To The Country Charity Foundation founded by red-blue guard Vitaly Fridzon as well as other famous Russian players Alexey Savrasenko, Fedor Likholitov, Egor Vialtsev and Sergey Monya. Part of the ticket revenue will be transferred to the basketball veterans in need.
“Triumph is a good team which reminds us of Maccabi with pick-n-rolls, pick-n-pops, continuous movement of the ball and dribble penetrations by their dangerous guards,” CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “We are looking to find more consistency and we want to play a good game after the previous one which drained our mental energy. The game is still important in means of standings so hopefully we will be able to see quality performance from everyone who steps on the floor for us.”
The Army Men will miss Alexander Kaun who receives short rest because of pains in his chronically injured right ankle. The decision on the ‘extra’ foreigner will be taken by the coaching staff before the game.
