Late start of the game for Sunday left enough space for maneuver to the Army Men. Representative of the coaching staff used free time in the morning to visit legendary Mamaev Hill.

Light frost and bright sun created perfect conditions for short tour. Head coach Ettore Messina, his assistant Dan Shamir, scout Benas Matkevicius, CSKA Director for Special Projects Sergey Ryabets, Media Director Nikolai Tsynkevich and photographer Mikhail Serbin took the mini-bus and the guide to visit the place of the most furious fighting of Stalingrad Battle.

The visitors showed great interest and sometimes were obviously surprised with the tales about the greatest battle of WWII, about the ideas integrated in the architecture and sculpture of the memorial complex, about technical details of this huge project and paid their tribute to the fighters who liberated the world from fascists. CSKA coaches who are always deeply involved in the study of our country’s history got a lot of impressions and enriched their fighting spirit. It was obvious later when the red-blues stood fast and took confident and well-deserved victory.
