Everyone in Russia and Europe got used to seeing our team in the season finale. But this year the geography of the deciding stage is different: the Army Men face Nizhny Novgorod.

“This is the new edition of the finals, old versus new,” CSKA head coach Ettore Messina said. “And I think that brings a lot of excitement to the fans to see another team fighting for the title. Nizhny Novgorod did great job to be here, they played really well in the crucial part of the season and they fully deserve to be in the Finals. The opponents play tough defense, they share the ball well, they have several players who are not afraid of taking responsibility. So I think we will have difficult series. As usually we will prepare game by game and see what happens.”

After the battle with UNICS the red-blues had two days off and got back to normal practices. The team still misses Vladimir Micov (virus) and Aaron Jackson (knee) who continues to practice individually. Though Jackson did not leave his teammates without support: he flew with the team on the luxury Boeing by Transaero.
