Ettore informed the club’s management about his decision in February still he worked until the end of the season and won another domestic title for CSKA.
Italian specialist was the co-author of the soundest successes in CSKA modern history in 2005-2009, 2012-2014. Under his guidance red-blues qualified for the Euroleague Final Four 6 times, winning 2 titles, won 6 Russian League titles, 2 Russian Cups and 2 VTB United League titles.

We are celebrating victorious season ending but at the same time we feel sadness. Great coach Ettore Messina, the most successful coach in CSKA moder history is leaving. The whole epoch leaves together with him and we have to start many things from zero. On behalf of the club and from myself I would like to say sincere words of gratitude and admiration. We experienced a lot together, we had glorious victories and painful defeats, we quarreled and reconciled, supported each other and had common goals. Ettore will always be a part of our Army Men family.
