Alexander Gudumak named Stankovic Cup MVP!

Russian reserve national team surprised the fans and specialists by winning prestigious traditional Stankovic Cup in Shanghai, China. Army man Alexander Gudamak was named tournament’s Most Valuable Player!

During the group stage Russians beat Slovenia (70-67) on last seconds’ three by another CSKA player Artem Komolov, then lost to hosts China (60-62) on the three with 6 seconds left and destroyed Angola (83-65). A the result Slovenia finished first in a group with Russia second and the final game was set between the teams. In rematch on the Game 1 Russia defeated Slovenia again in difficult closing moments (73-72).

Gudumak has become the final game best scorer (13 points) and was named Stankovic Cup MVP. He did not play main roles during the tournament playing just 18.3 minutes per game but averaged 11.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocked shots. Congratulations!

Komolov was the team’s starting shooting guard. His stats – 7.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals in 24.3 minutes.
