The meetings of CSKA and Zenit are moved to the basketball floor finally. Our team went to St.Petersburg today to play against old-new opponent.

It should be reminded that Triumph Lyubertsy moved to the banks of Neva river before the start of this season and it has become a department of the famous football club from Piter.

“Zenit is still undefeated at home this season, they are a young team which likes to run and do runs a lot.” Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach, said. “Their offense is in the hands of Hodge, who is great creator and executer. He is an experienced guard, he was named Eurocup Week MVP recently, played for Laboral Kutxa last season. Another important player for them is Landry who can play as stretch four and pick-n-pop center. They play very aggressive defense with full-court press, they all over you. We have big respect to that team, and we have to play quality game to continue the stretch of our good performances.”

The inactive list remains the same for the Army Men – Milos Teodosic, Victor Khryapa, Alexey Zozulin and Manuchar Markoishvili continue their rehabilitation. Still the Georgian forward went to the game with the team: him and the club’s junior project head coach Andrey Maltsev will conduct the clinic for the kids in Vasileostrovskaya School. The clinic will mark the start of the third season of CSKA and Rostelecom “Dream Team” project.

Dmitry Kulagin will be out for Zenit because of injury. Evgeny Valiev who missed the Eurocup game against Besiktas this week is questionable.

Past matchups

CSKA won in all 18 games against Triumph. Still BC Zenit does not count its past from Moscow Region times. So the historical matchup will get its first note on Sunday.
