Our Saturday

Saturday clinics became a good tradition for the Army Men One Team department. Just in two weeks after the previous one CSKA forward Victor Khryapa and CSKA Junior team coach Alexey Zhukov spend time with children from ’Nash Dom’ (Our Home) social center.

For eight boys of Our Home it is unusual to play basketball. Boys confessed that they usually play football. That’s why they needed to be taught from the first step. But that was not a problem – class was almost perfect. Victor Khryapa and Alexey Zhukov behave as great teachers and CSKA guests as polite and good pupils. It seemed that they are well-educated children – they listened to the coaches attentively and tried to do all the exercises right. And some of the boys did all the drills so easy that teachers started to think about their basketball future.

Drills were not so difficult – dribbling with both hands, passes off the chest, shots from under the basket and teamwork. Boys worked in pairs, listening to advices of not only two coaches but also players of CSKA junior team Artem Kuzmin and Artem Sorokin. In the end all participants played basketball. Guests showed that it’s possible to learn a lot even within an hour – one of the boys even made a three-point shot and the game ended with a score of 10-9.
