Classical clash of the brands extended to basketball this season. Moscow meets Piter in USH CSKA on Sunday.

“It is another important game for us as we face the team which is third in the league right now and beat leading Khimki recently,” Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach said. “Zenit is playing with a lot of energy on both ends and this will add some difficulty. We are playing our second game in 48 hours so we need full concentration and motivation to win.”

The Army Men actually did not have time to rest after the win against Efes in Euroleague. The team practiced today and the practice was just a bit shorter than usually with less load on the leaders. Andrey Kirilenko, Ivan Strebkov and Alexey Zozulin missed the game on Friday with only Kirilenko having health issues.

Past matchups

CSKA won in all 18 games against Triumph. Still BC Zenit does not count its past from Moscow Region times. The only game of new era happened in November of 2014.
2014-15 – VTB United League. Regular season. Zenit – CSKA: 57-81 (+24)
