Aleksey joined the Army Men in 2012. In three seasons the forward played in 68 games (9 starts), averaging 1.9 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.2 blocked shots in 7.1 minutes, he made 55% of two-point shots, 46% of three-pointers and 75% of free throws.
Andrey Vatutin, CSKA Moscow President:
In my eyes Aleksey is a true warrior, the guy you will go scouting with. He understood his role on the team perfectly and still remained one of the most hard-working and dedicated players. He had to cover the other players’ absences, played in some tough moments or in the garbage time and in any case we saw motivation and desire in him. Last season Zozulin was especially popular among fans: he brought 100th point to the team three times! After talking to the coaches we decided that it will be unfair to leave this kind of good and experienced player on the bench. I am sure that Aleksey did not say his last word in basketball and we wish him luck in his future career.
Aleksey Zozulin:
I would like to thank the team, and by saying that I mean everyone – the President, staff, coaches and players I worked with all this years. We had great relationships, our time together will leave a lot of great memories. The club will stay in my heart forever, I will sincerely cheer for the Army Men and I wish CSKA to take long-awaited Euroleague title. I would like to separately thank the fans for their warmth and support!
