Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
Congratulations to the team with another victory. It is not so easy to play against Khimki, especially in almost back-to-back situation (the teams played recently in VTB League). We can say many details about this game but overall we controlled it. It was a team win, everyone contributed, those who were on the floor and those who worked hard during practices, helping us to prepare better. We followed our plan, we took some risks – like letting Khimki win many offensive rebounds. But we also played well in the clutch – I can mention key offensive rebound by Vorontsevich in the end. We looked for defensive solutions in halftime and we stopped Khimki transition though they found ways to score differently. On the other side our players were also hot, we made threes but we created the shots, moved the ball well. We got another victory in competitive group, we will make conclusions though we don’t have much time to think. We have another “derby” – we meet Lokomotiv-Kuban this weekend, then we will play some away games. I would like to thank the fans again, we had almost 11 thousands in the stands, they created great atmosphere and made us feel home.
