Our club picked up the contract option to keep forward Cory Higgins (27 y.o., 196 cm) until the end of 2016-17 season.

Higgins played just one year in red-blue uniform but it was enough to become one of the team’s key players. He played in 62 of 69 CSKA games, starting 29 of them. He averaged 9.9 points (55.1% two-pointers, 45.7% three-pointers, 82.2% free throws), 2.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.7 steals in 20.2 minutes. Besides, American forward led Euroleague in three-point shooting percentage (54.0%).

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
We picked up the option on Cory feeling that he is an important piece of our machine. Higgins is fully dedicated to what he is doing, he loves basketball, he is the guy with big heart and strong character. Cory sets very high standards in everything, he is hungry, professional. Higgins is not afraid to sacrifice his body, and in several moments this season he wanted to be on the floor despite doctors’ recommendations. He is the kind of player we want on the team and we welcome him back.

Cory Higgins, CSKA forward:
I am very pleased to return to such an organization and am looking forward to next season with my coaches and teammates.
