Our team’s center Pavel Korobkov underwent successful surgery yesterday in Munich to repair his left knee.
The knee injury bothered the player in the middle of the last season and the first surgery took place in January. Korobkov got back to action after his recovery but the injury bothered him again during the VTB League playoffs; Pavel finished the season on painkillers. He was recommended to rest and take conservative therapy in the offseason but it did not bring positive results. After the tests done before the start of the Russian National Team camp the doctors of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency and CSKA the decision was taken to send the player for the diagnostic surgery.
The surgery in Germany was successful, the problem was found and solved, the player started his rehab.
It should be also noted that after additional tests the conclusion was made to allow Pavel to practice and play normally.
