Moscow army team celebrated the second road win in Russian Superleague by defeating Sibirtelekom from Novosibirsk after the win against EURAS.
Sibirtelekom – CSKA: 77-96
Like last season there were not enough seats for spectators who wanted to see the game between Sergey Babkov team and CSKA. About two hundreds of them were looking the game being standing.
This time Martin Muursepp was out of the technical roster. Sergey Panov substituted him in the starting five and David Andersen entered the game from the fist minutes. Australian center scored first 4 points of the army team. Hosts has shown first effect combination only in the middle of the first quarter when Sergey Grezin scored fifth point of his team cutting the advantage of guests: 5-10. But then Granger started the new spurt by the far throw. Till 3:43 to the end of the quarter Savrasenko substituted Andersen with 2 fouls and increased advantage into triple: 7-21. After getting it CSKA has lost some concentration and let Sibirtelekom to cut the advantage: 17-26. Dusan Ivkovic had to take time-out. Serbian coach did not make any substitutions and CSKA won this quarter with 11-points advantage: 19-30.
After the break Zakhar Pashutin and Dimos Dikoudis entered the game. Greek forward who did not play against EURAS was very active and scored 10 points in the second quarter. Till the middle of these 10 minutes Sibirtelekom was trying to keep the advantage but good defense. But after the second time-out of Ivkovic his team started the new spurt. Before the big rest Andersen increased our advantage to 17 points: 38-55.
The third quarter was started from the good game of Dia Cheik who scored 4 points in a row in beautiful throws. But then Brown, Dikoudis and Holden killed the intrigue of the game: 46-68 before the last quarter.
Like in the game against EURAS Ivkovic let to play young Zavoruev and Kourbanov. Experimental squad with them, Monya, Papaloukas and Andersen was not great but could keep early getting advantage.
Tomorrow afternoon CSKA will flight to Surgut to play against the debutant of Superleague A – University.
