Today the press-conference with the president of PBC CSKA Alexander Gomelsky and the CEO of the club Sergey Kushchenko took place in the press-center of the newspaper Moskovskiy Komsomolets. The managers of the army club told about the readiness of the team to the new season and answered questions of the journalists.

Alexander Gomelsky:

Russian club basketball is growing up now, it becomes more powerful and popular. I think that this championship will go on a very high level. Last summer Dynamo Moscow bought several good level players, Khimki started to buy sigh foreigners. UNICS and Ural-Great are traditionally strong. Dynamo from Moscow Region and St Petersburg will fight for the medals, Lokomotiv Rostov is growing up now.

CSKA has very interesting and strong roster now. We want to keep our positions in Russian championship and won gold medals again. Also we want to move to the Euroleague Final Four for a third year in a row. But our main task is to win this tournament.

In addition, I want to say that we count on the resigning contracts with Dusan Ivkovic and Sergey Kushchenko. Their contracts are expiring in the end of this season.

Sergey Kushenko:

In addition I want to say that we are going to give big focus on the individual training of the players. We invited the second physiotherapyst. Also we signed a contract with one of the leading companys who works on the preparation of the teams. They worked with Greek, Australian, Serbian teams, with Argentinian players before the Olympic Games.

Who is going to be the main opponent of CSKA in Russian championship?

AG: I did not see Dynamo Moscow yet. Their coach is need to make big job to make the team from the squad of players. UNICS and Ural-great who are traditionally strong will fight for the medals. These teams are not in their best shape now and do not show their best play yet. There 6-7 strong teams now. We will have interesting and tough fight in the games with them.
