Andrey Vatutin, CSKA Moscow President:
Throughout his whole career Joel played on the highest level and demonstrated rare set of skills for the big man. We planned to strengthen the team with his addition. Unfortunately Freeland was bothered with unlucky injuries in his first year, so that the player, medical and coaching staffs had to put huge effort into getting his shape back. I am sincerely sorry that those objective circumstances did not let him to present himself as an important player for the team, but we have no complaints on his work ethic and effort. Despite all difficulties he remained cheerful and friendly teammate who is always ready to support by word and action, so I would like to thank Joel for his patience and positivity. I wish him good health and good luck in his future career.
Joel Freeland:
I would like to thank CSKA for the opportunity to play for such a great organisation. It was a tough 2 years for me because of injuries but the whole team and organisation were extremely supportive and patient with my situation. I want to thank my teammates as well, it was a huge privilege to play alongside such great players. Last but not least a huge thanks goes to the fans for there ongoing support.
