Korobkov joined the Army Men in 2014 and played 100 games in red-blue uniform (4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 11.6 minutes). He was an important rotation player and provided significant help to CSKA on the way to EuroLeague and VTB United League titles. Unfortunately, knee problems made the player undergo three surgeries and sit down entire 2016-17 season. Coaching and medical staffs together with the player did huge job to help Pavel recover and get back to playing.
It is supposed that Korobkov will start practicing with the team from the beginning of the preseason camp. The contract will become fully valid when the player will be able to consistently work with the team without missing practices.
Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
Pasha had tough year with surgeries and long rehab. So definitely the main issue for him is to fully recover, stay healthy and ready to fight. He worked in Athens with Kostas [Chatzichristos] for 2 weeks recently and he has good progress. Regarding Korobkov’s characteristics we all know why we brought him to CSKA. We all count on Pasha to help the team.
Pavel Korobkov, CSKA center:
I stayed with CSKA for three years, and there are so many things that connect me to the club: great memories, serious titles, bright victories. Unfortunately I was out for season because of injury despite all my efforts to get back on the court. I am ready to continue working hard to justify the expectation of the management, coaches and fans. I would like to thank for the trust in me. I understand that this contract is just an advance, I will did everything possible to help the team on the way to new victories.
