First clash with EuroLeague team in the preseason brought victory to our team: CSKA beat PAO at OAKA.

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
We demonstrated serious approach regarding defense, we continuously playing good defense with smart attitude. We still miss 7 National Teams’ players, Panathinaikos is missing 4, still we did many good things in the game and I am happy with young kids effort, I like the way Astapkovich, Gavrilov, Katsivelis, Vostrikov played. I did not use Maleiko tonight but he was good in previous game. The bad thing is that Westermann twisted his ankle in the game. Hopefully his injury is not injured and he will be able to play soon. Leo participated in just two practices with us but he learnt all plays well, he scored, he organized, he played point guard and shooting guard and showed that he is a smart kid. The other bad thing is that we could not keep big lead, we were up 16-19 points in the game but had some turnovers and bad shot against aggressive defense. We could finish with double-digit margin, though it doesn’t mean anything right now.
