Korobkov spent 4 years with CSKA though he missed entire 2016-17 season. During that time he became a part of championship teams that won three VTB League and one EuroLeague titles. The player wore the red and blue colors in 113 games (11 starts) averaging 4.4 points (67.4% two-pointers, 46.3% three-pointers, 80.9% free throws), 1.9 rebounds, 0.4 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.3 blocked shots in 11.2 minutes.
Andrey Vatutin, CSKA Moscow President:
In 2014 when we signed Pavel we considered him as one of the most talented Russian big men who is able to break through on the highest level. We made no mistake, he proved it for two seasons, worked hard, improved, played good, sometimes decent games. Unfortunately the series of injuries got in his way to the next level, made him miss entire season and start climbing from the bottom. Pavel has to do even more work next season to recover and get his physical and basketball condoitions back. Therefore, together with appreciation words for his professionalism, dedication, character, desire to help the team, I would like to wish Pavel fortitude, courage and patience. Everyone in the club, fans, basketball lovers would like to see real Korobkov, versatile big man, who is able to do so many things on the court and who forgot about injuries. I hope it is not a “farewell” but “so long”.
Pavel Korobkov:
I would like to say “big thank you” to CSKA, fans, teammates, coaches and management for the chance to play on the highest level and huge support in difficult life situation. I was happy to become a part of great club, its history, glorious victories that will stay in my memory forever. I wish all players to be persistent and patient, to continue on the way to the main goal, to become the best in Europe again.
