Alan joined CSKA last summer after the stint with Avtodor Saratov but wasn’t able to earn the place in permanent rotation. He participated in just 5 games last season (1 in EuroLeague, 4 in VTB League), he combined 16 points and 7 rebounds in 30 minutes. Makiev also played 3 games for CSKA-2 in Russian SuperLeague 1 where he averaged 9.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocked shots in 16.8 minutes.
Andrey Vatutin, CSKA Moscow President:
We are thankful to Alan for this year. He did everything possible to become a part of the team, he was a true teammate and pro. Makiev worked hard during practices, he worked out individually, so I am sure that he was able to improve even without playing much in official games. I sincerely wish Alan good luck on the next stage of his career.

Separately I would like to say thank you to Kostas [Chatsichristos] who spent so much time with me in the weightlifting gym and Darryl [Middleton] who worked with me individually. I also thank medical staff and everyone in the club – people here do great amount of work so that the players can be focused on practices and games.
