Guard Cory Higgins is leaving our team upon the expiration of his contract.

Cory played 4 seasons for CSKA after the year with Gaziantep and became one of the leaders for the Army Men winning 2 EuroLeague and 4 VTB League titles.

Higgins played 239 games for Red-Blues (104 starts) averaging 11.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.8 steals in 21.4 minutes. He was the team’s best scorer and second-best scorer in the EuroLeague last season (14.9 points).

Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President:
Unfortunately for everyone of us, Cory Higgins’ mission in CSKA is accomplished. It was great 4-year stint, Cory had unbelieavably grew in the club as a person and a player, he won two EuroLeagues and has become a key player for our team. Cory took the decision which he considers the best for his family, and we have to accept it. He notified me before the Game 3 of the Finals but promised to give everything he has to win the VTB League title. The way he played the game says about his personal and professional qualities one more time. I would like to say sincere thank you to Cory for his contribution to CSKA successes and to wish him good luck with his new team.

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
There are no words to describe what I feel for Cory. I was lucky to have a chance to work together with such person, competitor, character and professional. Today is a happy moment after we finished the season in which we won everything. But it is also a sad moment knowing that he is leaving our CSKA family. I am really pleased to be a part of his development, because Cory came to CSKA from Gaziantep and grew into significant player for the great championship team. It was possible thank due to his unbelievable work ethic, he is a living example to every young player. I wish nothing but the best to Cory and his family.

Cory Higgins:
It was some of the best years in my life. Everybody from the coaching staff, coach [Dimitris] Itoudis, president [Andrey] Vatutin, [vice-president] Natasha [Furaeva], they gave me the chance here.
