Hunter has long and glorious European career behind his shoulders with 6 EuroLeague seasons and stints in Olympiacos and Real. But it was CSKA where he managed to lift his first continental trophy.
In his 2 seasons for the Army Men Othello showed consistent game, his stats didn’t change much from season to season. The center averaged 8.4 points (64.7% of two-pointers), 4.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.7 steals in 18.2 minutes in 118 games (75 starts). His 8 points and 5 rebounds were a key factor of CSKA comeback win in the EuroLeague semifinal, his block on Bryant Dunston in the final became one of highlights of the weekend.
Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President:
Othello spent two memorable seasons with our team. We were amazed by his flights above the rims, his character in deciding games, professionalism in every working moment, dedication to basketball and his family. Hunter played excellent Final Four, he was one of the key players who allowed the team to get back into the game. Othello is a man of his opinion and he always stands strong defending it. We really appreciate his contribution to CSKA victories, we value his attitude towards the club. It’s great that he will continue playing on high European level.
Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
I am very glad that I had a chance to work with such a professional, excellent athlete, great person and family guy. I am also very pleased that with our team Othello managed to accomplish his dream to become EuroLeague champion. I thank him for his consistently high level of motivation, for contribution, professionalism and I wish him the best of luck. We created strong human bond, relations that will stay forever whatever happens on the court.
