Our team’s legend Victor Khryapa is named as one of the nominees to the EuroLeague All-Decade Team.
Playing nine seasons this decade for CSKA Moscow, a club whose winning attitude he embodied, Victor Khryapa brought character, all-around skills and outstanding defense to the table every night. No other player has been to as many Final Fours as Khryapa’s 12, and he played in eight of those during the 2010s, lifting his second Turkish Airlines EuroLeague trophy in 2016.
Khryapa was the ultimate team player but that didn’t stop him from earning major individual accolades, too. He was chosen for All-EuroLeague distinction by the fans and the media three times: on the first team in 2010, and on the second team in 2013 and 2014. Khryapa was also picked by EuroLeague head coaches as the competition’s best defender for the 2009-10 season.

Even though he left the EuroLeague in 2018, Khryapa remains the all-time Final Four leader in games played (23) and rebounds (107), while ranking second in steals (22). His iconic moment was a late tip-in that forced overtime in the 2016 Championship Game against Fenerbahce Istanbul. In that overtime, CSKA won the title and Khryapa lifted the trophy as the team’s captain!
After all the nominees are finally known, voting will commence at the start of 2020 to choose the absolute best 10 players, regardless of position, in the EuroLeague this decade.
