Our team went to Nizhny Novgorod shorthanded.

Pre-game breakdown

The Army Men hoped to get some reinforcements after the game vs Valencia, but in fact they lost one more player. Howard Sant-Roos twisted his ankle during the practice today and stayed at Moscow for the tests in GMS Clinic. The Red-Blues “hospital” is overloaded with 7 (!) players out: Will Clyburn (ACL surgery), Janis Strelnieks (hamstring), Darrun Hilliard (being hit to his head, left out as a precaution), Semen Antonov (illness), Andrey Vorontsevich (ankle), Sant-Roos and Alexander Khomenko (knee).

To complete the 12-man lineup coaching staff added CSKA-2 players Alexander Yershov and Daniil Kochergin to the roster.

Word to the coach

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
Nizhny is always fighting, so we expect a tough game. We go there to compete.
