Baker joined CSKA last summer after three seasons in the NBA. The American played for our team in EuroLeague games only. He averaged 2.6 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.6 steals in 11.1 minutes in 27 games.
Andrey Vatutin, PBC CSKA President:
Ron’s career with our team happened to be not so long and, it seems to me, if the season was not cancelled, he would add first pro awards to his resume. We witnessed how Baker improved in his understanding of European basketball, not only technically, but mentally as well. I am sure, if he decides to continue playing on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, he will succeed. It is possible that we will see him in CSKA colors again. Anyway, Ron proved himself to be true professional and great teammate who helped to create excellent locker room chemistry.
Ron Baker:
I was very fortunate to be a part of CSKA throughout this past season. I met a lot of great people, teammate-wise and in the front office. Everyone was very nice and helpful to me coming over the Pond for the first time, I was treated very kindly on arrival and throughout the year, that was very important for me. Big thanks to CSKA for the opportunity, big thanks to the fans, everybody I dealt on the daily basis in the organization. Just a big thank you. I am excited that I got a chance to put on the Red Army uniform. It is something that I will cherish forever and always remember.
