The Cuban forward moved to our team in January from AEK Athens to add some roster depth with Will Clyburn out due to injury. The contract was signed until the end of the 2019-20 season with three-year option. Sant-Roos debuted in EuroLeague in red-and-blue (10 games, 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.7 steals, 18.9 minutes), he also played a couple of games in the VTB League (6.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 22.3 minutes).
Andrey Vatutin, CSKA President:
It was just another business decision. We tried hard to find financial support to keep Howard on the roster, because in short period here he proved to be a valuable player and excellent teammate. Unfortunately, due to the budget cut and economical problem caused by the pandemic, we have no room to maneuver, currently we cannot allow ourselves extra spendings. We let Sant-Roos go with regret and gratitude for the help in the past season. We sincerely wish Howard the best of luck.
