Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:
Congratulations to the team for the win in the Gomelsky Cup. I said yesterday about the circumstances that did not allow us to bring some strongest teams, but we are thankful and we have big respect to Parma, MBA and CSKA-2. We played on our level and that showed our respect to the opponents. Obviously, Parma did not have enough stamina, because they played games before the tournament. For me this is a [VTB League] playoff team, well-coached and with good roster. Any other game against them will not be a walk in the park. We started from 0-4 but dominated after. Nikola Milutinov had 11 rebounds in just 14 minutes, Darrun Hilliard had another 7 rebounds, that says how we fought for every ball. It was great to play in front of our fans again. I got the Best Coach award but I would like to share it with my staff – Andreas, Anton, Darryl, Denis, Kostas and Pavel, who prepared team for the most part of the preseason while I was recovering from illness, they kept the team on the highest level. This year is special, it is important that we don’t have National Team games, but we did not have a chance to check ourselves against the strongest opponents from EuroLeague. We still have to build our chemistry, but we are on the right way.
