The result 123-78 in the first game of the quarterfinal serie against SibirTeleñom almost brought CSKA to the Final Four of the Russian cup. It seems unlikely that in a second game the Army club would be able to loose such an advantage.

SibirTeleñom vs CSKA: 78-123

David Andersen was the foreigner who missed the game against the club from Novosibirsk. The match itself was held in Moscow but CSKA was the guest in it.
Dimos Dikoudis scored 18 points in the game, Marcus Brown and J.R.Holden added 15 each. Every CSKA player who was in the line up for the game spend no less than 8 minutes on the court including Sergey Monya who almost recovered from the injury and both young players Nikita Kurbanov and Vasily Zavoruev. SibirTeleñom was the leader for 12 minutes. It took CSKA one quarter to even the score. Dimos Dikoudis did it with 7.37 to go in the first half. As usual CSKA showed its best in the 3rd quarter. The result 37-15 speaks itself.

The second game of the serie would be held in Moscow in one week.

The head coach of CSKA Dusan Ivkovic:

Our last game was against Real which we won in the additional time. I want to thank peoples of Sibirtelekom who agreed to play both Cup games in Moscow and we have not travel to Novosibirsk. Today I gave an opportunity to play all 12 players, and all of them scored pointd, 7 players scored double digits. We started not very good, but then dound our usual temp.

The head coach of Sibirtelekom Viktor Kukharenko:

The game against CSKA is better then several practices for my players. Army team who have very tough schedule need to be always concentrate. I am glad that today young Russian players moved to the parquet. Vassily Zavoruev started very good and scored 2 3-piointers in a row. About the game, CSKA again has shown its high class. The game against such opponent is a great experience for my team.
