The next opponent is Partizan

23.04.2005
In the second game of the group stage CSKA junior team defeat Montepaschi Italy and had qualify to the quarterfinal of the tournament from the first place. Partizan from Serbie and Montenegro will become the next opponent of Sergey Bazarevic guys. The game against last year finalist of Euroleague tournament became very tough for our team.

The head coach said: I dont remember such play since Georgia. I can understand Siena who probab;y decided to get revenge after their lose in Euroleague final last year. But I cant understand referees who must protect players from openly brute game. Muy guys who did not expect it started to answer to their provocations. I had to take time-out and explain what we have to do on the parquet. This moment advantage of Montepaschi was 7 points. Kashirov received very strange fouls in 5 minutes. Ilia Astafiev was ill, Ivan Gusev has broke his hand in this game. So, we had very big problems. But we could recover and grow our advantage to 18 points to the big rest. In the second half Voron and Kashirov received bery fast 5 fouls. I wanted to take my team and go the locker room. I received technical foul trying to speak with referees. But we could win in this difficult situation. We came here to prepare to serious tournament, not to broke my team. I am going to meet with tournament organisators and discuss with them this situation.
