Euroleague 2005/06 draw will take place on Sunday, July, 10 at 11:00 CET in Prague. 24 teams will be divided into 8 levels of 3 teams each, in accordance with the final standings of the previous season.
1st level:
- Maccabi TA (Israel),
- Tau Ceramica (Spain),
- Panathinaikos (Greece);
2nd level:
- CSKA (Russia),
- Efes Pilsen (Turkey),
- Бенеттон (Italy);
3rd level:
- Armani Jeans (Italy),
- Ulker (Turkey),
- AEK (Greece);
4th level:
- Fortitudo (Italy),
- Montepaschi (Italy),
- Barcelona (Spain);
5th level:
- Real (Spain),
- Cibona (Croatia),
- Zalgiris (Lithuania);
6th level:
- Prokom (Poland),
- Unicaja (Spain),
- Olimpiya (Slovenia);
7th level:
- Olympiacos (Greece),
- Bamberg (Germany),
- Pau-Orthez (France);
8th level:
- Partizan (Serbia),
- Strasbourg (France),
- Lietuvos Rytas (Lithuania)
The levels will be drawn successively from the 1st to the 8th until all 24 teams have been selected. As the teams are drawn, they will be placed in the next available spot in the order Group A, Group B, Group C.
Two teams from the same country cannot coincide in the same Regular Season group, except for the countries with 4 teams (Italy and Spain).
Each group will have one team from Greece (3 representatives) and at least one team from both Italy and Spain.
The two pairs of teams from the same country (Italy and Spain) will not coincide in the same group.
The calendar will be formed after the end of the draw. The designated Euroleague Opening game will be held on October, 31 or November, 1.
