CSKA played the first match of the 1/8 Russian Cup Finals at home. The guest team – Soyuz – tried to start in an aggressive way and even managed to get the 11-1 lead. CSKA evened the score with one minute to go in the first quarter and never looked back.

CSKA - Soyuz : 103-66

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

- We won a serious game. The rival was shooting well and was trying to use an advantage of two our young players. But our veterans were focused on the game and did not let Soyuz to control it. Although one can understand that the game mental tension of course was not on the same level with the game yesterday. But anyway we got a good margin before the second game against the rival.

P.S. CSKA forward Matjaz Smodis who got injured in a game yesterday would have a light practice tomorrow in the evening. After that it would become clear how long it would take him to recover completely.
