CSKA forward Nikita Shabalkin would continue playing this season at CSK VVS. He was sent to the club on loan. In the Army club line up the Shabalkin played 12 games (9 in the Superleague, 2 in the Euroleague and one in the Russian Cup).
- Nikita started the season in a good way, - says CSKA head coach Ettore Messina. – He worked well at the camp in Italy and in general helped up. But it became clear that in the current situation we can not provide him enough time on the court in order to make a progress he has to make. That is the reason why the coaching stag and a player took the decision to give him an opportunity to play the rest of the season at CSK VVS. I am sure that the head coach of the team – Oleg Kim can show Nikita a right way to work, having in the mind the goal to come back at CSKA in the future.
- Does Shabalkin departure mean that CSKA would have any other player to fill the position?
- No. The only change we expect is Vladimir Dyachok recovering from the injury.
