CSKA president received the Person Of The Year award for his contribution in the development of the industry of sports in Russia. The official wording was: ‘for contemporary management decisions and attracting the investments into the industry of sports’.

The ceremony was held in one of the Kremlin palaces. It takes place there for the 5th year in a row. But for the first time the award became international. This means that not only Russian citizens may become the laureate of the award but also foreign people who contributed in the progress of our country. Also the ceremony set a record with 37 laureates. Last year there were 29.

The expert board of 57 Russian politicians, economists, bosses of the top level companies determines the laureate in each nomination. They especially pointed out that the prize is a chance to recognize one person achievement in one year not for the whole of the career. The nominations were divided into 4 groups. The Grand Prizes, political and business areas and special nominations. The award that was given to Kuschenko is in the last group but it is more or less conditional as almost all the special prizes had much in common with business in different areas.

The award is very important for PBC CSKA as the recognition of the club’s achievement in business. Sergey Kuschenko mentioned the fact in his word at the ceremony: ‘For our developing industry it is very important to attract investments. And we were happy to find out that the way we do it is recognized by the community’.
