Today CSKA played the first game in the Russian Cup. Ettore Messina squad managed to overscore Ural Great 91-82. The second game of the quarterfinals is set for February, 7th.

Ural Great Perm - CSKA: 82-91

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

- It was a tough game as it used to be in Perm. We started the match well and played good for 3 quarters. We were ahead by 20 points and I had a chance to use all the players on our roster. But in the start of the last quarter we lost the concentration and let the rival to cut down our lead to 6 points. Then our 5 starters stepped on the court once again and we controlled the play until the end. I am happy with the win, pleased with the way we played for 3 quarters but I am concerned about the tendency of relaxing too early.
