Both teams did not start the game well. The Army Club did not pay enough attention to defense and as a result was loosing until the middle of the first quarter. The person who put CSKA ahead was power forward Darius Songaila who posted up a three pointer with 4.37 to go in the first period – 13-11.
But CSKA did not start to increase advantage. It looked like in the first half CSKA was just warming up, while Dynamo was trying out newcomers. Eugeny Kisourin and Stanislav Makshancev joined the team without any visible problems. As for American Luc Axtel he did not show his best in this game. Former CSKA forward Nikita Morgunov did not take part in the game. He was recovering from the injury last two weeks and did not practice with the team.
In the second half the gap between two teams became more visible. But CSKA was leading by 20-25 points, not more.
