CSKA vs Universitet 100-64
Only a dreamer and a great Universitet supporter could suppose the team from Surgut to win this game or to qualify to the next round of the Cup. Probably because of this reason there was a low number of spectators in the hall. Just about two hundred.
Just like it was in the first game of the teams CSKA was missing almost all of its foreign players (excluding Nikolas Chatzivrettas) plus Sergey Panov and Zakhar Pashutin. All of them were given a chance to rest. Their places in the roster were taken by the players of CSKA reserve: Egor Vyaltsev, Nikita Shabalkin, Aleksandr Fomin. But in the beginning of the game of course the players of the main line up entered the court. The only achievement of Universitet in the game was the score 14-10 (in CSKA favor) in the middle of the first quarter. All the rest of the playing time CSKA advantage was out of the question. But of course the game was a different kind in comparison with Euroleague games.
The best scorer of CSKA was Aleksey Savrasenko with 24 points. It is not a surprise. As there was no one who could really compete with the center in Universitet roster.
The game against Universitet became the third CSKA home game with 100 or more points scored. The audience was grateful to Aleksandr Fomin who scored 100th point from the free throw line. A bit earlier Nikolay Padius missed a chance to do it.
CSKA is in the 1/4 finals of Russian Cup and tomorrow will play a game against Avtodor.
